The farm I grew up on in Northern VA has always had cows. Black Angus have roamed the fields as long as I can remember. Through the years cows have died from thunder strikes, giving birth, or breaking a leg on an obscure object. When this unfortunate event happened, the cow was moved to ditch between two of the fields.
I have always looked at the pile of carcass, last October I retrieved a few bones from the ditch. They were clean with only vines and dirt covering the pile. I looked at the pieces and thought I could make something out of the bones. As I collected more bones, more ideas sparked with different designs. Giving function through art gives these bones another life.
The designs include wall hangings, sculptures, candle holders and even planters. Enjoy as you browse.
